Plans for Apothecary Console with Storage Doors

I absolutely love my new media console we built.  Here are the plans I drew up. I referenced these and these plans from Ana-white.com when I designed these plans.

Supplies You will Need:

1 1/2 - Sheets (4' x 8") of 3/4" MDF

1/2  - Sheet of 1/4" MDF

4 - 1x6 Pineboards

1 - 2x4

1 - 1x2

12 Knobs

4 Narrow Utility Hinges

2 Euro Full Overlay Hinge

Wood Filler

Paint

Polyurethane

Wood Stain

Tools You Will Need:

Table Saw

Pocket Hole Jig

Drill

Hole Saw

Square

Brad Nailer

STEP 1:

Out of 3/4" MDF make the following cuts:

1 @ 20" x 47 1/4" (Bottom)

1 @ 20" x 45 3/4" (Top)

2 @ 16 1/4" x 20" (Middle Upright)

2 @ 7"x 20" (Top Upright)

Assemble with 1 1/4 inch counter-sunk screws as shown below:

STEP 2

Qty 2 - Cut 3/4" MDF at the following dimensions:

Qty 2 - Cut 3/4" MDF @ 14 3/4" x 9 3/4" (shevles)

Assemble with 1 1/4 inch pocket hole screws as shown below:

STEP 4

Cut from 3/4" MDF 20" x 47 1/4" (Top)

Cut from 2x4:

2 @ 20" Length (base)

1 @ 47 1/4" Length then cut in half longways (base)

Cut from 1/4" MDF

1 @ 27" x 47 1/4"

Assemble with 1 1/4 inch counter-sunk screws as shown below:

Do not attach the back!

STEP 5

Cut from 3/4" MDF:

4 @ 16" x 9 3/8"

4 @ 13 7/8" x 9 3/8"



Assemble two sets with 1 1/4 inch counter-sunk screws as shown below:

STEP 6

Cut from 3/4" MDF:

2 @ 16" x 15 3/8" (side cabinet fronts)

1 @ 16" x 14 1/2" (middle cabinet door)

Attach the shevles you made in Step 5 to the back of the side cabinet fronts. Attach the side cabinet doors with Narrow Style Hinges.  I used the ones below:

Attach the middle cabinet door with full overlay hinges.  I used the ones below:

STEP 7
Cut from 1/4" MDF:
12 @ 7" x 7 3/4" (False Faces)
Attach with Gorrilla Glue or a Brad Nailer

STEP 8
Cut from 1x2:

2 @ 20 1/4" Length

1 @ 48 1/4" Length

Assemble with brad nailer as shown below:

If you plan to paint or stain the bottom different than the top I recommend painting before completeing Step 9.

STEP 9

Cut from 1x6 Pineboard:

4 @ 49 1/4" Length

Use pocket holes to screw all these board to one another. Then attach to the console as shown below with 1 1/4" counter-sunk screws from underneath.

FINAL TOUCHES
Attach the back with a brad nailer. Paint with 2-3 coats of Polyurethane. 

Use a Hole Saw to make a hole for electronic cords.

Attach Knobs.  I used these ones:

Add a magnetic stop for the cabinet door:

You're done!
