I am sure you have seen Pallet bookshelves around the internet.
I made some for the boutique last month and I wanted to show you how I did it.
Grab a pallet.
I used the Circular Saw
. I just used the board as a guide and cut right up the side of it.
My saw blade was not big enough to go all the way through.
So I flipped the pallet over and tried to just match up my line.
Well... You can see how well that went!
For the next cut I just got out the Sawzall
to cut the rest of the way through. That worked GREAT!
I took some unfinished to the boutique and some painted. To paint them I primed them with Kilz Primer
. The best primer ever. I brushed it on. And it took FOREVER! My sister-in-law Kortnie from Ioka Lane Boutique uses it in the Spray Can
and told me I should try that! I definately will next time!
*If you chose to brush it on, make sure you have some paint thinner around because it is oil-based.
I left the bottom off for painting so that I could get up inside easier.
I just laid out all of my bottom pieces and painted them.
One of these days I hope to get one of these hung in my own home!

These pallet bookshelves are available for sale in my shop!
Here is what I made with what was left over from the pallets after making the bookshelves.
Never miss a new post!
