Forever and Always ~ DIY Home Decor Sign
I have had a picture of this sign in my head for awhile. I was so excited to finally get around to making it over the weekend! I will be taking this to the Boutique at the end of this month!
I started out the same way I make most of my Signs, 1x6 boards screwed together with Pocket Holes
. I also rounded off the corners with the sander.
I spray painted it white and then started taping off my stripes. I ALWAYS use Frog Tape
to avoid paint seeping through.
I would have liked to have the middle stripe be white but there was this ugly line in the wood down the middle so I decided to have a grey stripe in the middle to cover it up.
I started in the middle and then just used the tape and a pencil to mark where to put the next strip.
I didn't have any grey paint so I made my own. I made sure to make a lot because if I ran out I was afraid it would be a different shade when I mixed more.
I ended up with PLENTY of paint but better safe then sorry. I saved the rest for touch up.
On the sides (where my tape didn't stick very well I had to touch it up a little. I just grabbed the nearest thing I had to prop it up, which happened to be my tape measure.
I made my stencils the same way I did for my Old Barn Wood sign, cut them out with my cricut on this thick glitter paper that I wouldn't use for anything else.
I didn't have much space at the top and I was afraid I would get paint outside of the stencil so I just put some tape down which also held it in place for me.
Then I just cut my letters out the same way and painted them on.
I LOVE how it turned out!

DIY Chevron Monogram
My cousin recently asked me to make this for a bridal shower gift for one of her friends.
She asked me to combine this chevron project...
and this monogram that I gave her little sister as a bridal shower gift.
I wanted it to have more Chevron on there so I used smaller tape. I also got the Frog tape so that it wouldn't bleed. I used the same taping off method that I used on the last Chevron project. However this time I only used a 45 degree angle on my chevron pattern which I liked a lot better.
Click here to view my tutorial with more hints on taping off a chevron pattern!
Visit the Chevron and monogram tutorial for more information on how I made this.

Reclaim-ologists and Other Crafty Chicks
Today I am SO EXCITED to be introducing you to a group that I am a part of called Reclaim-ologists and Other Crafty Chicks. It is an online Boutique on Facebook.
It is a group of about 15 ladies who Reclaim Furniture, build crafts, make beautiful cakes, crochet, and much more! It all got started because two of the ladies bought a couple things from each other online. When they got together they started talking, and decided if they combined their efforts in an online boutique it could be a great opportunity to sell their items. They invited a few other ladies they knew to join in. It started spreading around facebook and when I saw it I knew I wanted in! They were accepting a few additional crafters and I was SO LUCKY to be accepted!
It works great for everyone! As Recliamers and Crafters, Facebook is a great way to share our stuff. The group is awesome because then everyone's stuff gets shared with 14 other ladies' friends and friends of friends. And our customers love it because they can "go to" a boutique sitting in front of their computer. Also as crafters we have been able to bounce ideas off each other, share tips, and make new friends!
Below you find some examples of the types of things that are for sale on the page.
I would love for you to LIKE our page!
