I had these rose bushes. They were so pretty 2 weeks a year, and the rest of the time they looked so trashy. And with my son running around the yard I was always afraid he would grab them. So I told my husband I wanted them gone!
He decided he would hook onto them with a chain and pull them out. I told him, "Um don't you think that is going to pull the fence over honey!?" But he assured me it would be fine.
See how that chain is resting on that old fence post?.... See where this is going?
It was one of those "I told you so" moments where you don't even have to say anything.
Luckily I already had plans for something I wanted to do for the entry gate. He finished ripping out the rose bushes, and then we went to town for supplies.
We picked up these treated 4x4 posts from the hardware store. They are not cheap, but they are what I wanted. Instead of using a ladder to put the top one on we just backed the truck up to it and stood on the tailgate. It worked great!
I had purchased this sign a few months ago. And originally I was going to hang it from the hitching post in my front yard, but I like it where I have it now. I used to work at a tractor dealership. While I was there I got some old Hesston Equipment paint. It worked perfect for this sign!
I decided to paint the gate to match! I LOVE my gate so much more now!
I picked up these solar lamps off Amazon.com
I don't know why they had these weird clips on them, but I didn't want them hanging from them.
My husband pulled them off with pliers.
We used a fencing staple to hang them up.
Never miss a new post!

What a great idea!!! Think this would be a good idea for an entry gate in wilsonville or? Or would it look too out of place?
