Chocolate Trifle Cake

I know this cake doesn't have straight pretty layers because I am not that talented, but I promise it still tasted good!

Here's how you make it.
Bake a Devil's Food Cake according to package.
Cut it up into bite sized pieces.

Layer half of the cake in the bottom.

Add a layer of Instant chocolate pudding.
Then a layer of of Cool Whip.
A layer of Heath Bits.
Repeat.
Cake.
Pudding.
Cool Whip.
Heath Bits.

Enjoy!
{And if you are taking it to a party let's pray you are better than me at making it look pretty! LOL}

Chicken and Biscuits

Last week I saw this recipe on Pinterest from Marie's Cooking Adventures. I thought I would give it a try.

It was delicious!  I have made it TWICE in the last week!

A few things I have to say about it:

I want her to get the credit for this recipe so please visit her post by clicking here to get it.

A few people on the post mentioned that the biscuits were doughy on the bottom.  Mine were also.  My husband likes them that way, but I DO NOT!  So the second time I cooked this I just left the biscuits out and cooked them separately according to the package.

I used canned chicken because it is fast and easy for a busy momma!

I used frozen peas, instead of canned because that is what I had.

This is going to be a new favorite in our house!  Try it! I might be at your house too!

No Bean Chili Cheese Dip

This stuff is so good and SO EASY!!!  I picked up this recipe from my husbands family.  There are two different ways of making it just depends on who in the family is the one making it.

The way I prefer:
1 8oz pkg of Cream Cheese
2 Cans of No Bean Chili

The other way:
1 pkg Velveta Cheese
3 Cans No Bean Chili

For both types you just warm it in a pan OR a Crockpot, stirring occasionally, until the cheese is melted in.

Try them both!  They are both DELICIOUS!

Ham Roll Ups

 Easy and Delicious!

There is no real recipe for this, but here is what goes inside the tortilla:
Cream Cheese
Ham
Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Green Onions

For this batch I used:
2 pkg. Cream Cheese
4 Green Onions
4 Slices of Ham
(the good thick stuff)
About 4 Handfuls of Cheese
4 Burrito Size Tortillas

Mix everything together, then spread a thin layer on each tortilla.  Roll up the tortilla and cut into 1/2" slices. The tortilla will smash really easy so you need to use a serrated knife.  I use my electric knife.  If you have one that is the way to go!

Oh Henry Bars

Do you remember Grandma Lottie's Chicken Fruit Salad?

Well she is also famous for always making these Oh Henry Bars!

 1 cup Sugar
1 cup peanut butter
3 cups Rice Krispies
1 cup Corn Syrup
1 cup Salted Nuts
1 1/2 Pkg Chocolate Chips

Bring Sugar and Corn Syrup to boil.

Remove from heat.  Stir in Peanut butter and nuts, then Rice Krispies. Spread it out on a cookie sheet.
If you are a little bit OCD like me you are going to want it all even, but this stuff is pretty sticky and trust me it is not worth the time it will take to get it totally even.  So do your best and call it good!

If you do the prior step fast enough it will still be hot and you can just dump your chocolate chips on top and they will melt on their own.  I am never fast enough so i turn my oven on to 350.  But don't let it preheat just throw this in as soon as you turn it on. With in about 3 minutes the chocolate will be melt enough that you can spread it.

Spread your chocolate.  Let it cool.  And you are done!

Muddie Buddies

I am posting this incase there is some chance that you haven't heard of Muddie Buddies or you have, but don't have the recipe, because these are SO YUMMY!

8 Cups Chex Cereal
1/2 Cup Peanut Butter (Creamy)
1 Cup Chocolate Chips
1 tsp Vanilla
1/4 Cup Butter

The very first thing you should do is measure out your chex cereal.  That way you won't be trying to measure it while your chocolate is melted, because it starts to set up fast.

Next put the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter in a bowl.  Melt them in the microwave.  This should only take about 30-45 sec.

Once it is melted.  Add the vanilla.  Then pour it over the Chex cereal. And mix it as evenly as you can.

Next pour the Chex and powdered sugar into a gallon ziplock bag.  I like to add a little Chex and then a little powdered sugar back and forth so that it gets evenly covered.  Shake it up, and your done!
